Inaugural Lomax & Porter Golf Fundraiser
Fans and supporters of Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Football are reminded that there is still time to participate in the Inaugural Lomax & Porter Golf Fundraiser which will be held this Friday (April 9th) at the Perry Country Club in Perry, Georgia.
Registration for the golf fundraiser begins at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Golfers can participate in the event by paying a $50 per player registration fee or a $200 fee for a foursome. A hole sponsorship is $250. Participating golfers will be treated to catered lunch and will have the opportunity to win prizes in the longest drive and closest to the pin competitions.
The golf fundraiser is named in honor of legendary, former FVSU Head Football Coaches Stan Lomax and Douglas Porter. All proceeds from the four person, best ball competition will benefit the FVSU Football Program.
Annual Blue & Gold Spring Football Game & Community Block Party
The Annual Blue & Gold Spring Football Game will be played this Saturday (April 10th) at 2 p.m. in Wildcat Stadium. This year's contest features a new wrinkle with the current Wildcat team playing former Wildcat players. Admission for the game is $2.00.
The game will be preceded by a community block party which starts at 11:30 a.m. just outside of Wildcat Stadium.
