Congratulation to Shekiya Tarpkins of Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats for being named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, by the conference office.
 
Tarpkins scored a game-high 31 points in a 71-65 road win against Kentucky State on Dec. 31. The 6’0 senior forward from Social Circle, Ga., was 11-of-20 from the field including two 3-pointers. She also recorded six rebounds and four steals. With the win, Fort Valley State (3-8 overall) improved to 2-1 in the SIAC.
