Anchoring the defensive back line, Ashley Simmons-Blair of volleyball picked up the Female Athlete of the Week award for Oct. 21-27. In eight sets, Simmons-Blair totaled 31 digs to go with two aces, a kill and an assist. Ashley had a season-high 21 digs, two aces and a kills in a 5-set tough loss at Benedict College, before she added 10 digs and an assist at Paine College the next day.
