FORT VALLEY, GA (January 17, 2015) – After putting up three wins Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (6-12; 4-3) fell 67-53 to LeMoyne-Owen College (9-4; 5-1) Saturday afternoon at the HPE Complex.
LOC's largest lead of 17 points came in the second half with 1:05 remaining with FVSU never leading.
The Lady Wildcats shot 26.9 percent from the field in the first half and 25.4 percent for the game making 15-of-59 baskets. From the free throw line the team hit 72.7 percent going to half and 73.3 percent for the game (22-of-30).
LOC made 25 percent of their baskets at halftime (9-36) and 38.6 percent for the game on 27-of-70 shots. The Lady Magicians made 83.3 percent at the foul line and the game 11-of-19 free throws for 57.9 percent.
FVSU was out rebounded 51-46, while turning the ball over 27 times to LOC's 22.

Brittnee Hazel (Loganville, GA) led the Lady Wildcats with a double-double 11 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals and 7 blocks in 40 minutes of play. Senior forward
Carmenonique Dawson (Thomasville, GA) added 6 rebounds and 9 points. Senior guard
Antionna Jefferson (Opelika, AL) had 4 assist, while making 3-of-3 free throws.
LOC's top point getter was Latrice Sears with a game-high double-double 12 points and 13 boards and Darriel Johnson 12 points. Montique McConnell and Teneshia Johnson added 10 points apiece.
