FORT VALLEY, GA (January 5, 2014) – Fort Valley State Lady Wildcats (3-10; 1-1) post three players in double figures in a 67-61 loss to Kentucky State University (6-2; 2-0) Monday night at the HPE Complex on FVSU's campus.
FVSU scored on 34.4 percent of their shots in the first half, while making 23-of-56 baskets for the game (41.1 percent). The team sank 5-of-9 free throws in the half and 50 percent for the game (10-of-20).
KSU hit 23-of-53 baskets for the game for 43.4 percent on the night.
Senior forward
Carmenonique Dawson (Thomasville, GA) scored a game-high 21-points to lead the Lady Wildcats, while grabbing 8 rebounds and making 9-of-16 shots from the field, 3-of-7 three's, 3 assist and 3 steals. Senior's

Antionna Jefferson added 11 and 10 points. Senior point guard
D'Ambria Thomas (Pelham, GA) led the team with a game-high 6 assist and added 8 rebounds.
Shaquanda Wiggins led KSU with 16 points and Shayla Moore grabbed a game-high 11 boards.
KSU out rebounded FVSU 43-34 and dished out 16 assist to FVSU's 12.
