FORT VALLEY, GA (November 30, 2015) –Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats had four players to post double-digests and one double-double as they dropped a non-conference game to the Lady Tigers of Benedict College 63-82 at the HPE Complex.
The Lady Wildcats fall to 1-5 on the season and Benedict moves to 3-0.
Senior forward
Katice Williams (Augusta, GA) led the Lady Wildcats with a game-high double-double 17 rebounds and 15-points. Williams made 4-of-11 baskets, 1-of-4 from behind the arc, and 6-for-11 at the free throw line, had 3 steals and blocked 3 shots. Freshman guard's
Jayme Gilbert Montezuma, GA) and
Ricarsha Johnson (Thomasville, GA) added 14 and 13 points.
Regime McCombs led Benedict with 21-points and Destiny Betts had 12 rebounds.
FVSU made 29.4% of their shots from the floor and 54.3% at the foul line. The team grabbed 51 rebounds and turned the basketball over 35 times. Benedict shot 40.0% from the field and 48.8% from the line. The Lady Tigers had 59 rebounds and 32 turnovers.
Next game: The Lady Wildcats will start conference play by traveling to Tuscaloosa, AL on Thursday, December 3 to play Stillman College at 5:30 and Memphis, TN on Saturday, December 5 to play LeMoyne-Owen College at 1 pm.
