Orangeburg, SC (February 14, 2015) – This marked the second meeting between Fort Valley State University (9-17; 6-8) and Claflin University (12-12; 5-10) with the Lady Wildcats winning both Matchups. Fort Valley State defeated Claflin Saturday afternoon 59-54 at Tullis Arena in the second encounter.
FVSU had four members posting double figures, senior center
Brittnee Hazel (Loganville, GA) led the Lady Wildcats with double-double 12-points and a game-high 14 rebounds, one assist, two steals and blocked two shots. Red shirt sophomore
Shereba Montgomery (Abbeville, GA) packed in 10-points and 6 rebounds while hitting 6-of-6 free throws. Senior forward

Tonisha Wilson (Douglas, GA) added 11 and 10 points.
Unique Mitchell and Victoria Thomas led the Lady Panthers with 17-points and 16-pointsand Jessica Brown grabbed 8 boards.
FVSU made 21-of-55 shots from the field during the game (38.2 percent), while going to the foul line 28 times and making 15 for 53.6 percent shooting.
Claflin shot 32.2 percent from the floor (19-of-59) and 76.9 percent in free throws (10-of-13).
The Lady Wildcats out rebounded Claflin 36-37, as FVSU gained its largest lead of 10-points at the 5:25 mark. FVSU outscored Claflin in the paint 26-points to 10-points, and 15-points to 11-points off turnovers.
The Lady Wildcats will host Albany State University for homecoming on Saturday, February 21 at 8 p.m. The final regular season game is Senior Night as they host Clark Atlanta University on Monday, February 23 at 8 p.m.
