AUGUSTA, GA (November 22, 2016) – The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (0-4) drops its fourth straight game 73-47 to Augusta State University (0-1) tonight at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Shekiyah Tarpkins led the way with 19-points on 7-for-17 shooting, made 4-of-4 free throws, five rebounds, blocked a shot and two steals. Alexis Green grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds, eight points and blocked three shots.
Jomaiya Garner dished out a game-high five assist and seven points.
FVSU made 20-of-63 (31.7 percent) baskets and 6-of-13 (46.2 percent) at the foul line, while grabbing 47 rebounds. The Lady Wildcats hit 24 points in the paint, 11 off turnovers, seven on second chance shots, six off fast breaks and nine points from bench players.
ASU's Breonna O'Conner led the team in scoring with 27-points, while Abrea Harris and Brianna Middleton pulled down six boards apiece.
ASU scored on 26-of-66 shots from the field for 39.4 percent and 65.4 percent at the free throw line on 17-of 26 shots. They had 45 rebounds.
FVSU will host the Jessie A. Brown Memorial Classic on November 25/26 at the HPE Complex on FVSU's campus. Friday, FVSU will host Livingstone College at 6 p.m. and Benedict College will play Miles College at 8 p.m., then on Saturday, Miles College and Livingstone College will play at 1 p.m. and FVSU playing Benedict College at 3 p.m.
