TUSKEGEE, AL (February 11, 2016) – Senior center
Brittnee Hazel led Fort Valley State by scoring 15-points and 11 rebounds, the Lady Wildcats basketball team defeated Tuskegee University 53-46, Thursday night at the Chappie James Area.
FVSU (9-14; 8-6 SIAC) extended their SIAC winning streak to five, while TU's (5-17; 4-10 SIAC) loss ended their two-game winning streak.

Jayme Gilbert added nine and eight points, junior forward
Briunca Caldwell grabbed nine boards. FVSU's bench outscored TU's bench 17-10, beating them in the paint 20-18, second chance shots 15-7.
Hazel made five of nine buckets, five of seven free throws, blocked three shots and had one steal.
Rachel Brownlee led the way for TU with game-high 21-points and five rebounds.
FVSU scored on 18-of-55 (32.7%) baskets and making five three-pointers. The Lady Wildcats out- rebounded TU 40-36.
The Lady Wildcats limited the Lady Tigers to 15-of-46 (32.6%), while holding them to only four made three-pointers. The defense also caused 21 turnovers that resulted in 15-points for FVSU.
In the second-half, FVSU made it to the foul line five times, making four after making eight of 13 in the first half.
The Lady Wildcats will head over to Fairfield, AL to take on the Lady Bears of Miles College on Saturday in a 1 p.m. game.
