Wildcats Set for Panthers Saturday Afternoon

1/10/2020 4:15:00 PM

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats try to make it 2-for-2 in 2020 Saturday afternoon. Fort Valley State women's basketball is set to battle Clark Atlanta in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East Division play.

Game Information:
Tip-off - 2 p.m.
Location – L.S. Epps Gymnasium, Atlanta, Ga.

The Wildcats (6-8/3-3 SIAC East) opened the new calendar year with a successful game at Kentucky State last Saturday (Jan. 4), 55-52. The Panthers (5-10/4-3 SIAC East) started equally well with a pair of victories at Central State (77-70) and also over Kentucky State (61-60) last weekend.

FVSU can go over the .500 mark in the league play and potentially take over second place in the East Division behind Benedict College. The Wildcats also have the opportunity to surpass last season's win total with a victory.

Clark Atlanta has split its last four contests with losses in the final two games of December. The Panthers are tied for second in the East with Paine College at 4-3.

CAU prevailed in last year's meeting in Epps Gym by a 69-53 final on Jan. 21. FVSU earned the season split with a 62-56 win in the second meeting on Feb. 2 in Fort Valley. The Wildcats last win on the Panthers home floor came three years ago by a 73-63 margin on Jan. 26 of 2017. CAU has won 4 of the last 6 matchups over the three previous seasons.
