FVSU AD Dr. Holloman's Statement on Wildcats 2021 Spring Return to Play

Dear Wildcat Supporters,

I am excited to announce a return to play for Fort Valley State University's athletic department. Our women's basketball team will host Albany State University on Friday, February 5, at 5:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, February 6, at 5:30 p.m. In response to the pandemic Fort Valley State University has adopted the approved SIAC Men's & Women's Basketball COVID-19 Return to Play Guidelines. These protocols will help to ensure that we are minimizing the risks of spreading COVID-19 and protecting our student-athletes and staff.

Fort Valley State University holds the health, safety, and welfare of every member of our community as our highest priority. The University also desires to provide intercollegiate activities while protecting the health and safety of our student-athletes by minimizing the potential spread of the virus within our community. Therefore our basketball games will be played without spectators this season. We are committed to providing a safe and secure experience for all student athletes as they visit our campus for athletic competitions to be played during the spring semester.

To ensure our student body and supporters can enjoy our athletic competitions we are partnering with Blue Frame Technologies to offer video streaming for the 2021 women's basketball and softball games. All six home basketball games plus 16 softball home contests will be streamed, making it possible for all students, alumni, and family members to take in the action live.

Fort Valley State University is excited to host athletic competitions on its campus and believe it is important to reiterate our commitment to the SIAC protocols, our student-athletes, coaches, and staff as we return to play.
