Four FVSU Men’s Basketball Student-Athletes Earn SIAC All-Academic Team, 90 Wildcats on Commissioner’s All-Academic Team

ATLANTA, Ga. – Despite a tough year, the Wildcats increased its numbers for academic success. Four Fort Valley State men's basketball student-athletes earned Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, while the Wildcats placed 90 on the record-high 1,454 SIAC honorees on the 2020-21 SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.

The Wildcats men's hoops quartet of repeat honoree Brelan Holston, Hayden Fuller, Jacobi Coleman and Randall Johnson accounted for four of the five 2020-21 SIAC All-Academic Team in the sport. Student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher were considered for all-academic team honors. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions usually involved in that sport.

The Wildcats put 90 of their student-athletes onto the SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team, which honors all student-athletes for maintaining at least a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average throughout the 2020-21 academic year. The 90 Wildcats are a 19 student-athlete increase from the previous academic year. The football team led the FVSU men's teams with 34 members, while men's track and field had 14 and men's basketball totaled 11. For the Wildcats women, both the women's track and field and softball squads accounted for nine members while women's basketball was right behind with eight.
