FVSU Places 9 on SIAC All-Academic Teams, 66 Wildcats Make SIAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats showed solid work in the classroom for the 2021-22 academic year. Fort Valley State placed nine on the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and another 66 on the SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team announced Wednesday.

Both Faith Hill and Yeshhk Ergano of the Wildcats cross country and track & field teams made both of their sports All-Academic Teams. The five other FVSU All-Academic Team members were Davante Brown of football, Bianca Haslett for women's volleyball, Brelan Holston of men's basketball, Stacy Sims for men's tennis and softball's Hailey Bracey.

Along with the Wildcats football team having 17, the women's basketball team saw nine team members earn Commissioner's All-Academic Team status. The softball program was third with six, while women's volleyball, men's basketball and both men's and women's track & field teams had five apiece.

A record high, 1,474 student-athletes, was named to the 2021-22 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner's All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average throughout the 2021-22 academic year.

Student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher were considered for all-academic team honors. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions usually involved in that sport.

Fifty-one students from 13 institutions recorded a 4.0 grade point average.
