Wildcats Athletics Celebrate Division II Day

INDIANAPOLIS – The Wildcats are proud to "Make It Yours." The Fort Valley State athletics department and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference are celebrating Division II Day on February 22.

FVSU is one of around 300 Universities competing in NCAA Division II and it is part of the SIAC, one of 23 Division II Conferences across the nation's landscape.

Division II Day is the day all individuals associated with Division II to celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on their campus and community. The goal is for DII Day to build a greater awareness and understanding of Division II athletics.

Division II is all about balance. Students participate in highly competitive athletics, have the best access ratio to NCAA championships of any division and can earn athletics scholarships, but their college experience includes so much more than sports participation. The balanced approach in athletics, academics and community engagement allows Division II student-athletes to focus on their academic pursuits, internships, studies abroad and all that interests them.
