Wildcats Tame Tigers

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats passed their first test after academic finals last week. Fort Valley State flipped the script in the second quarter and never trailed over the final 26 minutes of the 51-42 win over Tuskegee in women's basketball.

Trailing 15-8 in the opening minutes of the second quarter, FVSU ran off an 11-0 run with Makayla Arnold accounting for five of those points for a 19-15 lead. The Wildcats increased a 7-point lead after three frames to 11 points twice, 44-33 and 47-36, in the final 10 minutes and never led the Lady Tigers closer than three points.

FVSU (3-5/1-4 SIAC East) snapped a three-game skid and posted its first SIAC victory. In the game, the Wildcats had their way on the glass by a 34-22 margin, but they turned the ball over nine more times than the Lady Tigers (3-6/0-3 SIAC West), 19-10.

Taylor Addison dropped a pair of 3rd quarter treys for eight points with two rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
