Fort Valley State University, in partnership with the Growl Club, proudly announces the 17th Annual Lomax-Porter Charity Golf Tournament, set for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at River North Country Club. Named in honor of legendary Wildcat football coaches Stan Lomax and Douglas Porter, the tournament celebrates their lasting legacies while raising vital funds to support student-athlete scholarships and the continued advancement of FVSU Athletics.
We are excited to welcome back former players, alumni, supporters, and community partners for another outstanding day of fellowship, spirited competition, networking, and philanthropy in support of Wildcat Athletics.
The tournament will feature a four-person scramble format, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in what continues to be one of the premier annual fundraising events for Fort Valley State Athletics.
Participants are encouraged to take advantage of Early Bird Registration rates available through June 1, 2026:
- $150 per individual
- $550 per team
Beginning June 2, 2026, regular registration pricing will go into effect:
- $250 per individual
- $700 per team
Awards will be presented to the top-performing teams following tournament play.
In addition to participation opportunities, a variety of sponsorship packages are available for individuals and businesses looking to make an even greater impact on the success of the event and support the mission of FVSU Athletics.
The Platinum Corporate Sponsor level, at $5,000, includes an official Lomax-Porter Golf Tournament plaque, company logo placement on the FVSU Athletics website, a banner displayed at Wildcat Stadium, hole signage, one RV parking spot for FVSU Homecoming, four golf teams, ten tickets to the Fountain City Classic, and four football season tickets.
The Gold Corporate Sponsor level, priced at $3,500, includes a tournament plaque, banner at Wildcat Stadium, hole signage, three golf teams, seven Fountain City Classic tickets, and two football season tickets.
The Blue Corporate Sponsor level, offered at $2,000, includes a banner at Wildcat Stadium, hole signage, two golf teams, and five Fountain City Classic tickets.
The Corporate Sponsor level, at $1,000, includes hole signage, one golf team, and two Fountain City Classic tickets.
Those interested in additional support opportunities may also participate as Hole Sponsors for $300, which includes exclusive signage displayed at one tournament hole.
