NyAsia Blango enters her second season as assistant coach for FVSU women's basketball in 2026-2027. She adds championship experience, a passion for player development, and a commitment to helping student athletes succeed both on and off the court. In her first season, Blango worked primarily with the Wildcats' guards while overseeing the team's player development program. Under Blango's coaching and mentorship, Allen earned All-SIAC Conference honors after finishing as the SIAC's second-leading scorer, while Johnson also received All-SIAC recognition after being named to the SIAC All-Freshman Team.

Before joining the Wildcats, Blango enjoyed a standout playing career at Elizabeth City State University, where she earned bachelor's degrees in psychology (2023) and sport management (2024). She made an immediate impact as a student-athlete, earning CIAA Rookie of the Year honors in 2019 before becoming a four-year starter for the Vikings. During her collegiate career, Blango helped lead ECSU to three CIAA Women's Basketball Championship game appearances, highlighted by the program's first CIAA Tournament Championship in 2023 and its first NCAA Championship Tournament appearance. Her outstanding postseason performance earned her CIAA Tournament Most Valuable Player honors in 2023, and she was named to the All-CIAA Tournament Team in both 2023 and 2024. Blango capped her collegiate career by leading the Vikings to the 2024 CIAA Northern Division Championship as a senior.

A standout in the classroom as well, Blango graduated cum laude and was inducted into both the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and the Psi Chi International Honor Society. While completing her playing career, Blango also served as an athletics communications intern at Elizabeth City State University, gaining valuable experience before beginning her collegiate coaching career.
