After his 2021-22 opening weekend efforts, men's basketball's Pierre Mitchell is the Wildcats Men's Athlete of the Week for Nov. 8-14. The redshirt sophomore led FVSU with a 13.5-point, 3.5-rebound and 5.0-assist average in the two games. The point guard scored a team-best 18 points on 5 of 10 shooting and 6 of 7 free throws to go with two rebounds, three assists and two steals versus West Florida. Mitchell followed it up with nine points (7 of 8 free throws), 7 assists, five rebounds and three steals against No. 10 Valdosta State.
