Opening the 2024 Wildcat Nation Women's Athlete of the Week, Shekinah Rachel picks up the first award of the semester. The senior forward recorded a pair of double-doubles in the FVSU women's basketball 1-1 week. Rachel averaged 16.0 points and 10.5 rebounds to go with 3.5 steals, 1.5 assists and a block per game last week. Her two double-doubles made for three-straight games with one and four of the last five contests.
In the win at Talladega College, the Miami, Fla., native made 5 of 11 field goal and 14 of 18 free throws to go with 10 rebounds, five steals, two assists and a blocked shot in the 20-point Wildcat win. Over the weekend, Rachel recorded her highest point total as a Wildcat with 28 points on 12 of 16 field goals with 11 boards, a pair of steals, an assist and one block.
