The Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (FVSU) raised their season record to an even 2-2 after a 73-63 win on Saturday night (December 3, 2011) over the Lady Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen College. Played in historic Bruce Hall on the campus of LeMoyne-Owen College, the win was the first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory for the Lady Wildcats this year and inched legendary Head Coach Lonnie Bartley to just four games shy of his 600th career win.
On their way to the win, the Lady Wildcats had four players to score in double figures. In 19 minutes of play, point guard Yasheeka Jones finished with 14 points, two assists, and four steals. Freshman forward Dominique Collier added 12 points and six rebounds. Tamara Andrews and Briana Shepherd contributed 10 points each.
Shonice Sprouse led the Lady Magicians with 17 points.
