The Wildcats enter Saturday's game ranked sixth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Rankings in Super Region Two. FVSU shares the lead in the East Division of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) with Golden Rams of Albany State University.

THE LOGISTICS: Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. in B.T. Harvey Stadium.

ON THE AIR:  N/A

LAST TIME OUT:  (FVSU) The Wildcats defeated the Tigers of Stillman College last Saturday (Oct. 20th), 35-15. Quarterback Antonio Henton completed 17 of 30 passes for 164 yards with a 44-yard touchdown toss to wider receiver Christopher Slaughter.  Slaughter finished with five receptions for 98 yards and running back Travis Richmond ran for 99 yards on 14 carries.  Defensively, Deron Furr and Alex Cook led the Wildcats with seven tackles each.

(MHC) Four second-half turnovers proved costly for the Maroon Tigers who fell 39-26 to the Tigers of Benedict College in Benedict's Homecoming Game.

WHAT'S AT STAKE:  This game is an East Division, SIAC contest.  The Wildcats are tied for first place in the division and the Maroon Tigers are currently fourth in the division.

A win by the Wildcats would secure their current ranking in the East Division of the SIAC and keep them among the top six teams in the NCAA Division II Super Region 2. A win would also mean that the SIAC East Division champion will be decided in the 23rd Annual Fountain City Classic on November 3rd when the Wildcats will meet the Golden Rams of
Albany State University.

A MHC win would salvage a deeply disappointing campaign for the Maroon Tigers and would dampen the Wildcats push toward the conference crown..

THE SERIES HISTORY:  This is the 37th meeting between the Wildcats and Maroon Tigers. The first meeting between FVSU and MHC was in 1974 with the Wildcats winning, 41-25.

Series Record: FVSU leads 26-10-0

Last Meeting: October 29, 2011

In Saturday's (Oct. 29th) match-up between the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (FVSU) and the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College (MHC), the Wildcats hoped to use their final home game of the season to derail MHC's chance to win the first ever Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) East Division title.  However, instead of knocking the Maroon Tigers off track, a 49-12 loss proved to be a train wreck for FVSU.

In a game in which the Wildcats never held a lead, the Maroon Tigers showed exactly why they are contenders for the divisional and overall conference title.  A dominating offensive performance ended with 662 yards of total offense for MHC.  Of that total, 536 yards came on run plays.  Of the 536 yards on the ground, one player, running back David Carter, rushed for 351 yards.  It was the most rushing yards that the Wildcats had given up in a single game or to a single rusher this season.

THE COACHING MATCH-UP:    Fort Valley State University Head Coach Donald Pittman is in his fourth season at FVSU. The Wildcats are 23-17 under Pittman. Delta State University

Rich Freeman is in his fifth season as the Morehouse College Head Coach. His overall record at MHC is 38-21.
