Lady Wildcats top Lady Panthers (87-78)

The Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Lady Wildcats Basketball Team broke a two-game losing streak with 87-78 win over the Lady Panthers of Claflin University (CU) on Monday Night, January 28th in the HPE Complex on the FVSU campus.  With the win, the Lady Wildcats upped their season record to 10-8 overall and 6-3 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play.  The loss drops the Lady Panthers to 3-17 overall and they are 2-6 in league play.
 
FVSU's Shytina Harley posted a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds.  The Lady Wildcats got 14 points Jayme Gilbert and 10 points from Shereba Montgomery.  The Lady Panthers were led in scoring by Talaya Robinson who finished with 21 points.  Tylesha Brown and Laquanda Williams logged 16 points each for CU.
 
The Lady Wildcats are back in action on Saturday, February 2nd, when they travel to Albany, Georgia for a conference match up with the Lady Rams of Albany State University at 6 p.m. in the HPER Arena on the Albany State University campus.
