In perhaps their most entertaining home game of the season, the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (FVSU) battled the Panthers of Claflin University in a high flying, dunk per-minute contest in the HPE Complex on Monday Night. Unfortunately, when the players finally landed back on the court, the Panthers came away with a 60-57 win.
The disheartening loss was the third straight for the Wildcats who fall to 6-11 on the season and 3-6 in conference play. The Claflin win pushed their season mark to 7-11 and they are now 5-5 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action.
The Wildcats were led in scoring by
Jeremy Sledge who finished with a game-high 25 points.
Brandon Davey added 10 points to the FVSU tally. Terrance Bowman led the way for Claflin with 12 points.
The Wildcats return to the hardwood on Thursday, January 31
st at 7 p.m. when they host the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College in the HPE Complex.
