Box Score 2 Fort Valley, GA (November 10, 2013) – The Fort Valley State University (0-2) men's basketball team dropped two games over the weekend in Huntsville, AL as they opened the season against The University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) (1-0) and The University of North Alabama (UNA) (1-0) in the GSC/SIAC Challenge.
UAH defeated FVSU in game one 94-74, while senior guard
Brandon Davey ( Warner Robins, GA) scored a game-high 40 points, senior forward
Corey Hunter (Cincinnati, OH) added 16 points and senior forward
Nigel Domineck (Stone Mountain, GA) grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Senior guard
Joshuah Davis (Augusta, GA) led the team with 6 assist. Davey was 12-of-22 from the field, 12-of-19 in threes and hit 4-of-4 foul shots.
Caleb Duke led UAH in scoring with 23 points and Greg Gardner had 6 rebounds.
The Wildcats dropped game two to UNA 57-92, as
Corey Hunter and
Brandon Davey hit for 13 points each and sophomore guard
LeRoy Broner (Brunswick, GA) grabbed a team-high 7 boards.
Bruce Adams led UNA with a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Wildcats will open at home on Tuesday, November 12 at 7:30 pm as they host Georgia Southwestern College at the HPE Complex.
