Box Score Fort Valley, GA (December 10, 2013) – Three players for the Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (1-6) scored in double figures while falling to Clayton State University (4-1) on Tuesday 66-80 at the HPE Complex.
Antionna Jefferson led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 16-points and
Briana Shepherd with 11 rebounds. Jefferson scored on 5-11 shots and 4 three pointers, 2-2 at the free throw line, grabbing 5 rebounds, 4 assist and one steal, while
D'Ambria Thomas and
Carmenonique Dawson added 13 and 10 points.
Shacamra Jackson led Clayton State with a double-double and game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds.
FVSU biggest lead came at the 12:05 mark in the first half with 9 points, as Clayton State outscored FVSU 36-34 points in the paint, 23-20 points off turnovers, 15-14 points on second chance shots, 10-6 points on fast breaks and FVSU scored 65-23 points from her bench players.
For the game the Lady Wildcats hit 23-of-66 (43.8%) shot from the floor and 16-of-23 (69.6%) free throws, while Clayton State made 26-62 (41.9%) shots and 25-of-37 (67.6%) from the foul line.
