FRANKFORT, KY (September 19, 2013) – The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats volleyball team won their first conference game in the SIAC Volleyball Crossover Tournament over Lane College 3-0 (25-4, 25-8, 25-10) in Frankfort, KY. on Thursday. The host school Kentucky State University won game two 3-0 (13-25, 10-25, 13-25).

FVSU record improves to 2-14 and 1-1 in SIAC play.

In game one junior middle hitter Briana Shepherd (Birmingham, AL) led the Lady Wildcats to victory over Lane with 9 kills, 2 SA, 2 digs, 2 solo blocks and 1 block assist. Freshman setter Karli Brown (Columbus, GA) added 23 assists and 8 SA's.

In game two, Victoria Ingram had 13 digs and Briana Shepherd add 6 kills in the loss to Kentucky State.

FVSU will face Tuskegee University at 10 am and Miles College at 2 pm on Friday, September 20, 2013 in Frankfort, KY (SIAC Volleyball Crossover).
