Box Score FORT VALLEY, GA (January 9, 2014) – Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (4-8; 2-1) dropped their first conference game to the Lady Tigers of Tuskegee University (6-5; 3-0) on Thursday, January 9 (73-88) at the HPE Complex.

For the game, FVSU shot 37.5 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent at the free throw line, while TU hit 43.1 percent of their shots and 73.9 percent at the line.

Senior forward Briana Shepherd (Birmingham, AL) led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 12 points and grabbed 6 boards, while hitting 6-of-8 free throws. Senior forward Shytina Harley (Tampa, FL) added 11 points and blocked 3 shots and junior forward Brittnee Hazel (Loganville, GA) led the team with 10 rebounds, blocked 2 shots and added 3 steals.

Kajuanna Rivers led TU with 28 points and Marie McAbee posted a double-double 16 rebounds and 23 points.

Next game for FVSU is Saturday, January 11 when they host the Lady Tigers of Stillman College at 6 pm.
