Brandon Davey (Warner Robins, GA)scores a game-high double-double to lead the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (5-5; 1-0) over Lane College (1-3) 88-81 Thursday afternoon at J. F. Lane Gym.
FVSU pull up 38 points in the first half and 50 points in the second for their score, while Lane had 37 points at halftime and 44 more in the second half for its points.
The Wildcats gained their largest lead of 19 points in the second half at the 4:01 mark and Lane with 2 points with 18:30 left in the second half. FVSU outscored Lane in the paint 20-10, 12-10 off turn overs, 19-2 on second chance shots and Lane went 34-30 in points off the bench.
Davey led the Wildcats with game-highs in scoring, rebounds and assist with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assist. He hit 9-of-15 baskets and drained 4-of-8 free throws. Senior forward
