Box Score JACKSON, TN (January 2, 2014) – Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (3-7; 1-0) go into Jackson on the back of junior forward Brittnee Hazel (Loganville, GA ) and pull off a conference win over Lane College (0-3) 82-67 at J. F. Lane Gym Tuesday night.

The Lady Wildcats completed just 29-of-85 shots from the field for 34.1 percent, 5-of-29 for 17.2 percent from behind the arc and 19-of-32 free throws for 59.4 percent for the game. Lane made 34.5 percent of their shots and made 67.6 percent on 25-of-37 free throws.

Hazel a transfer from Grambling State led FVSU in scoring and rebounding with 13 points and 9 boards and Shytina Harley had 10 points. D'Ambria Thomas had 4 assist and 8 rebounds.

Crystal Rayford led Lane with 16 rebounds and 12 points, while Sharon Morgan hit 22 points.

FVSU will play Kentucky State in Frankfort, KY on Saturday, January 4 at 1 p.m.
