Box Score FRANKFORT, KY (January 4, 2014) – Senior point guard
Joshuah Davis (Augusta, GA) 25 points helped the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (6-5; 2-0) outscore Kentucky State University (1-6; 0-2) 66-55 on Saturday afternoon at the Exum Center.
The Wildcats went to halftime down 25-31, before coming out in the second half with 41 points. The team shot just 26.5 percent from the field in the first half and made 37.5 percent of their free throws. KSU shot 37.1 percent from the floor and a hot 80 percent at the foul line.
For the game, FVSU scored on 23-of-63 shots from the floor for 36.5 percent and went 15-of-29 for 51.7 percent at the line, while KSU made 23-of-65 shots and 8-of-15 free throws.
Davis also had a game-high 4 assist and 4 steals, while making 7-of-15 shots, 6-of-9 free throws and grabbed 5 rebounds. Senior forward's
Nigel Domineck (Stone Mountain, GA) and
Brandon Davey (Warner Robins, GA) posted 15 and 12 points and a share of a game-high 11 rebounds each.
Ulysses Thomas III, Darquell Pulliam and Quentin Henderson scored 13 points apice to guide KSU.
FVSU will host the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University at the HPE Complex on Thursday, January 9 at 8 p.m.
