Box Score FRANKFORT, KY (January 4, 2014) – The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (4-7; 2-0) placed three players in double digits as they won their second SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) game by defeating Kentucky State University (4-6; 0-2) 87-79 on Saturday afternoon at the Exum Center.
FVSU led at halftime 42-35, while shooting 41.7 percent from the floor, 55.6 percent in 3-pointers and 70 percent at the line. KSU made 37.5 percent of their shots, 33.3 percent in threes and 52.6 percent from the foul line.
FVSU for the game made just 26-of-68 (38.2 %) shots from the field, 6-of-12 (50 %) shots from behind the arc and 76.3 percent (29-of-38) of their free throws. KSU shot 41.4 percent from the floor making 29-of-70 shots and made 20-of-39 (51.3 %) foul shots.
FVSU largest lead of 18 points came in the second half with 8:51 left on the clock. FVSU outscored KSU with 17-to-15 points off second chance shots and 36-to-31 points off the bench, while KSU made 44 points to the Lady Wildcats 34 points in the paint and 34 points to 26 points off turnovers.

LaShell West scored 24 points to lead KSU and Shayla Moore had a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards.
FVSU return home for play on Thursday, January 9 as they host the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University in a 6 p.m. matchup at the HPE Complex.
