MILLEDGEVILLE, GA (November 24, 2014) – Fort Valley State Wildcats were beaten by 45 points Monday night by Georgia College & State University 86-41 at the Centennial Center in Milledgeville.
The Wildcats overall record is 0-3, while the Bobcats increase to 3-2 overall.
The Wildcats shot just 25 percent from the field in the first half, while making 1-of-3 free throws and hitting only 3-of-16 three pointers.
Georgia College & State made 17-of-37 shots from the floor and went 5-of-10 from foul line.
FVSU went 6-for-28 from the floor, 1-for-11 from three point land and 6-of-10 at the foul line in the second half. Georgia College & State made 34.9 percent of their shots, while scoring on 11-of-13 free throws.
For the game, FVSU scored on 15-of-64 baskets, 4-for-27 from 3-point land and 7-of-13 free throws. Georgia College & State made 32-of-80 shots for 40 percent, 6-of-22 three pointers and made 16-of-23 shots from the foul line.
The Wildcats had no players to post in double figures, while Le'Roy Broner led the team in scoring with 7 points and
Montreal Holley and
Derrick Spear grabbed 6 rebounds each.
Larrentis Thomas posted a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Bobcats.
The Wildcats will travel to Saint Leo, FL on Friday, November 28 to play Saint Leo University at 7 p.m.
