LADY WILDCATS DROP BIG CONFERENCE GAME TO ALBANY STATE

Box Score ALBANY, GA (February 22, 2014) – Junior forward Brittnee Hazel (Loganville, GA) score a double-double for Fort Valley State University (12-13; 9-6) in the 51-60 loss to Albany State University (17-5; 12-3) on Saturday.

Hazel was the only Lady Wildcat to score in double digits with 10 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks.

The Lady Rams was led by Keidra Green with 22 points and Kourtney Alexander added 13 more and Artisha Holston had 13 boards.

FVSU shot 25.0 percent in the first half and ASU was 24.1 percent from the field while ASU led 22-18 at the half.

FVSU made 30.4 percent of their shots and 50.0 percent at the foul line for the game. ASU shot 34.0 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent at the free throw line.

ASU outscored FVSU in the paint 20-14, but FVSU won the battle on points off turnovers with 16-15, second chance shots 6-4 and got 27 points to ASU's 13 from players coming off the bench. ASU out rebounded FVSU 43-42 and both teams were very close in turnovers with ASU's 25 and FVSU 24.

FVSU's next and final regular season game is Thursday, February 27 in Augusta, GA as the team plays Paine College at 6 pm.
