Box Score AUGUSTA, GA (February 27, 2014) – Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats (12-14; 9-7) end the regular season with a 66-79 loss to Paine College (11-14; 8-7) Thursday night.

Junior forward Carmenonique Dawson (Thomasville, GA) led FVSU at halftime with seven points as they went to half down 23-34. Ashley Watts had 16 points for Paine. FVSU shot just 20.0 percent from the field and 69.2 percent at the free throw line, while Paine made 43.3 percent of their shots and 53.8 percent on the line.

Dawson led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 12 points and hit 6-of-8 foul shots and sophomore forward Katice Williams (Augusta, GA) grabbed 11 rebounds in the contest. FVSU had 48 rebounds to Paine's 39.

Watts scored a game-high 37 points for Paine and Ariel Brown with 12 boards.

For the game, FVSU shot 25.4 percent from the floor, while going to the line 46 times and making 34 for 73.9 percent. The Lions hit 44.8 percent of their shots and 81.3 percent at the free throw line.

Next game for the Lady Wildcats will be March 3 in the SIAC Basketball Tournament in Birmingham, AL.
