Tyrone Brinson scored 16 points in Fort Valley State University (1-12; 1-6) 78-67 loss to LeMoyne-Owen College (8-7; 5-2) Saturday afternoon at the HPE Complex.
Brison made 5-of-11 shots from the floor, 6-of-9 free throws, a team-high 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Junior center
Ralph Wilson (Americus, GA) added 11 points and 7 rebounds while hitting 2-of-2 free throws. Senior point guard
Derrick Spear (Atlanta, GA) scored 10 points and 6-of-6 at the foul line, while dishing out 5 assists. Senior center
Montreal Holley (Montgomery, AL) had 9 rebounds and 6 points.
Dequan Mitchell led LOC with 18 points and 12 rebounds and Antoine Williams scored another 18 points.
The Wildcats scored on 40.7 percent shooting from the field for the game and 18-of-25 foul shots for 72 percent.
LOC shot 51.6 percent on the floor (32-62) and 61.5 percent at the charity line on 8-of-18 shots.
