VALDOSTA, GA (November 13, 2015) – 
Marcelis Hansberry and 
Dareial Franklin led the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University in scoring with 12-points each, but it was not enough to overcome a 72-65 loss to Valdosta State University Friday night in the GSC/SIAC Classic.
The next four games will be played on FVSU's campus on Saturday, due to it being VSU's football homecoming. FVSU will host the University of West Florida at 4 pm and Valdosta State will play Benedict College at 6.
Hansberry went 3-of-6 from the field, 6-of-6 at the foul line, 2 steals and 2 assist, while Franklin was 5-of-11 in field goals, made 2 threes and pulled in 7 rebounds. Manitea Duke added 11-points, 4 rebounds, while hitting 3-of-3 three pointers. 
Ralph Wilson grabbed a team-high 13 boards for the Wildcats.
Jeremiah Hill led Valdosta State in scoring with 27-points and Justin Scott a game-high 14 rebounds.
FVSU made 40% of their shots and 71.4% at the free throw line and grabbed 40 rebounds. VSU hit 48.2% of their baskets, while making 57.9% at the foul line and pulling down 33 boards.     
Going to half, Hansberry and Franklin led the Wildcats with 10-points each. Hansberry went 3-of-3 from the field and 4-of-4 at the line. Franklin made 4-of-6 field goals and 2-of-2 at the free throw line, while Wilson had 8 rebounds.
FVSU made 14-of-27 shots, 3-of-7 threes and 5-of-8 at the line. The Wildcats out rebounded Valdosta State 20-15.
