Ralph Wilson (Americus, GA led the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (2-8) in scoring with a team-high 16-points while in a losing effort to Livingstone College (4-5) 106-69 Saturday afternoon on Clark Atlanta's campus in SIAC/CIAA Classic.
Wilson had 5 rebounds and made 6-of-10 free throws, while senior guard
Dareial Franklin (Gadsden, AL)grabbed a team-high 6 rebounds and scored 10-points.
Eric Dubose led the Blue Bears with a game-high 26-points, while hitting 11-of-14 baskets. Nasir Austin added 14-points.
The Wildcats made 23-of 73 shots for 31.5% shooting from the floor, went 6-for-26 from behind the arc for 23.1% and it 17-of-27 free throws for 63%. FVSU had 42 rebounds, while turning the basketball over 16 times.
Livingstone outscored FVSU 32 points to 24 in the paint, 25 points to 6 off turnovers, 15 points to 9 on second chance shots, 14 points to zero on fast breaks and 74 points to 25 off the bench.
Livingstone scored on 56.3% of their shots, 43.5% in 3-pointers and 61.5% at the foul line.
