MEMPHIS, TN (December 5, 2015) – The Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (1-6, 0-2) had four players to score in double figures in the 80-95 loss to LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians (3-6; 2-0) Saturday night at Bruce Johnson Hall in Memphis.
Freshman guard
Tyler Edwards (Douglasville, GA) led the Wildcats in scoring with 15-points, made 5-of-8 baskets, went 4-of-5 at the charity line and blocked 2 shots. Junior forward
Kris Bell (Griffin, GA) added 13-points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while junior guard
Ray Mobley Snellville, GA) scored 13.
Jaylon McMillan chipped in 11-points and senior guard
Eugene Thomas (Jackson, MS) led with 4 assist, while pulling down 9 rebounds.
Larry McGaughey led the Magicians with 23-points and Justin Street grabbed 13 rebounds and scored 17-points.
The Wildcats made 27-of-73 (37.0%) shots from the field, hit 32.3% (10-31) threes and 16-of-21 (76.2%) free throws. FVSU grabbed 43 rebounds and turned the basketball over 19 times.
LOC shot 50.0% (34-68) from the floor, made 37.5% (6-of-16) 3-pointers, while making 58.3% (21-36) of their foul shots. The Magicians had 45 rebounds and 17 turnovers.
