Katice Williams (Augusta, GA) scored a double-double with a team-high 15 rebounds and 13-points in the Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University 63-75 loss to LeMoyne-Owen College on Saturday at Bruce Johnson Hall in Memphis.
FVSU overall record is 1-7 and 0-2 in the SIAC, while LOC improves to 3-5 and 1-1 in the conference.
Williams made 5-of-9 shots from the field, went 3-for-4 at the free throw line, passed three assist out, blocked one shot and stole two balls. Senior guard
Iyuna Dugger (Douglas, GA) added 13-points, while freshman point guard
Ricarsha Johnson (Thomasville, GA) dished out a team-high 6 assist.
Rachel Hughes led LOC with game-high 18-points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
LOC out rebounded FVSU 44-38, and turned the basketball over 25 times to FVSU's 21. FVSU had 19 steals to LOC's 14.
The Lady Wildcats scored on 26-of-70 (27.1%) shots from the floor and hit 7-of-15 (46.7%) foul shots. The Lady Magicians hit 50.9% (28-55) baskets and 66.7% (18-27) free throws.
