FORT VALLEY, GA (January 14, 2016) – The Fort Valley State University Wildcats (2-15; 0-6) was not a match for the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College (6-6; 3-4) as the Wildcats dropped their tenth straight game 67-76 Thursday night at the HPE Complex.

Maritea Duke led the Wildcats in scoring and rebounding with 14-points and 11 rebounds. Duke made four of ten baskets from the floor, hit three trays, went three for four at the free throw line, dished out two assist, had three steals and blocked one shot. Senior guard
Dareial Franklin matched Duke with 14-points, senior point guard
Marcelis Hansberry added 12-points and led the team with four assist. Morehouse grabbed 43 rebounds to FVSU's 36.
Ayinde Russell led Morehouse in scoring with a game-high 22-points, Javarius Gay added 16, Robert Askew and Tyrone Brown each had 13. Brown pulled down nine boards.
For the game, FVSU scored on just 31.3% (20-64) of shots from the field, made 35.7% (10-28) threes and 73.9% (17-23) free throws. The Wildcats had fifteen assist, blocked two shots and eight steals.
Morehouse made 24-of-50 (48%) shots from the floor and 24-of-35 foul shots. They finished with thirteen assist, six blocks and four steals.
The Wildcats outscored the Maroon Tigers 19-8 on turnovers, but Morehouse hit 30-points to 15 in the paint, 12-9 points on second chance shots and 8-3 on fast breaks.
The next game for FVSU is Saturday, January 16 in Augusta, GA., as they play Paine College at 8 p.m.
