FORT VALLEY, GA (January 25, 2016) – Senior guard
Jayme Gilbert scored a team-high 16-points to lead Fort Valley State to a 65-63 overtime victory over Clark Atlanta University Monday night at the HPE Complex.
The Lady Wildcats improves to 5-14 overall and 4-6 in the SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and Lady Panther's drops to 6-13 overall and 4-5 in the conference.

Brittnee Hazel's jumper tied the game for the first time at 48-48 with 9:49 left in the fourth period, Gilbert's made layup with 9:13 left gave FVSU their first lead 50-48. Hazel's jumper increased the lead to 59-57 with 46 second left, before CAU's Naquaisha Rattray layup with 36 seconds left for the tie 59-59.

Shereba Montgomery jumper increased FVSU's score to 61-59, freshman guard
Daknequa White made the score 63-59. CAU's Brandie Robertson two free throws cut the lead to 63-61 with 1:43 to go. Montgomery's jumper increased the score to 4 (65-61) with 1:18 left. The Lady Panthers Mykala Jones made two foul shots to close the gap to 65-63 and the final score with :56 seconds left.
Gilbert scored on 5-of-19 shots from the field, made three trays, hit 3-of 4 free throws, four rebounds, a team-high five assist and three steals. Hazel added 12-points, nine boards and blocked four shots. Montgomery and senior guard
Katice Williams each had a game-high 19 rebounds, with Montgomery blocking two shots and scored nine points.
FVSU grabbed 71 rebounds to CAU's 50, while CAU dished the ball 16 times to FVSU's 12, but turned the basketball over 18 times to FVSU's 13.
Jones put on a show for the Lady Panthers with 37-points and five rebounds. Jones made 15-of-21 free throws and 10-of-26 baskets. Nekia Sockwell added 10-points and Siera Bubb grabbed 14 rebounds.
For the game, the Lady Wildcats scored on 27-of-93 (29.0%) shots, hitting 3-of-18 (16.7%) three pointers, while making just 8-of-22 (36.4%) foul shots. CAU made 34.9% (22-of-63) from the floor, 28.6% (2-of-7) in threes and 51.5% (17-for-33) at the free throws line.
