FORT VALLEY, GA (January 28, 2016) –
Daknequa White scored a game-high 15-points as Fort Valley State (6-14; 5-6) defeat the Lady Tigers of Tuskegee (3-14; 2-7) 59-48 Thursday night, January 28 at the HPE Complex.
White made 6-of-14 baskets, went 3-of-6 in three pointers, 5 rebounds, 3 assist and 3 steals.
Katice Williams had a game-high 11 rebounds and
Brittnee Hazel added 14-points and
Shereba Montgomery hit 10.
Aryana Jackson led Tuskegee with 13-points and Uche Ibebunjo grabbed 7 rebounds.
FVSU grabbed 40 rebounds to Tuskegee's 38 and turned the ball over 25 times to 30. The Lady Wildcats outscored the Lady Tigers in the paint 18-16, 27-15 off turnovers, 13-9 on second chance shots, 8-6 off fast breaks and 23-11 on players off the bench.
FVSU made 23-of-58 (39.7%) shots from the field, 5-of-19 (26.3%) from behind the arc and 8-of-16 (50%) free throws. Tuskegee shot 32.1% (17-of-53) from the floor, 18.2% (4-of-22) from three point land and 50% (10-of-20) foul shots.
