BIRMINGHAM, AL (February 29, 2016) – Fort Valley State University Wildcats basketball team was knocked out in the first round of the SIAC Basketball Tournament by the Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen College 78-65 Monday afternoon in Birmingham at the Bill Harris Arena.
Senior forward
Dareial Franklin paced the Wildcats with game-high 26-points, by hitting 7-of-18 baskets from the floor, making three trays, hitting 9-of-10 foul shots and pulling down six rebounds. Senior center
Ralph Wilson led the team in rebounding with 13 and scored 10-points and sophomore guard
Jamaal Garror adding 10-points.
Rashawn Brown and Justin Street led LeMoyne-Owen with 19-points each, while Larry McGaughey grabbed 14 rebounds and 13-points. Jerry Hampton scored 11 points.
FVSU made 19-of-61 baskets during the game, 6-of-19 three pointers and 21-of-32 free throws, while LOC scored on 23-of-64 field goals and 28-of-38 foul shots.
