FORT VALLEY, GA (January 21, 2017) – Fort Valley State University Wildcats (7-10; 5-3) basketball team went down to Benedict College (10-7; 7-1) 72-64 on Saturday afternoon at the HPE Complex.
James Barnes led the Wildcats in scoring with 14 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Dareial Franklin put up 11 points each. Franklin had a team-high eight boards.
The Wildcats made 28-of-64 (43.8 percent) shots from the field, while hitting 5-of-9 free throws. FVSU out rebounded BC 40-25. BC hit 28-of-50 (56.0 percent) baskets, hitting 6-of-13 three pointers and 10-of-19 shots at the charity line.
Benedict was led by Quayshun Hawkins with 23 points and Christopher Spencer had nine rebounds.
