CARROLLTON, GA –
Alicia Franklin led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with a game-high 22-points in their 76-52 loss to the University of West Georgia Tuesday evening inside the Coliseum on West Georgia's campus.
FVSU falls to 0-6 on the season and UWG improves to 3-2.
Franklin scored on 9-of-25 shots from the floor, hit 4-of 15 three pointers and grabbing four rebounds.
Nola Carter pulled down a team-high nine rebounds along with 10-points and making 2-of-3 foul shots.
Keaundra Cox dished out four assists and eight points.
Kayla Carter scored 17-points to lead UWG and Jayda Dooley had nine boards.
The Lady Wildcats managed to hit 29.9 (20-67) percent from the field for the game, while making only 7-of-28 long range shots and hit 5-of-9 free throws. FVSU grabbed 40 boards and turned the ball over 21 times.
Both teams struggled in the first quarter with FVSU shooting 16.7 percent from the floor and went 0-for-6 from 3-point land. In the first quarter,
Kaylan West made the second of two free throws to get the Lady Wildcats on the board at the 2:45 mark. Carter closed the gap on UWG with back-to-back baskets and ended the quarter down 5-11.
FVSU never led in the game, but allowed the Wolves to jump out to its largest lead of 26-points with 2:03 remaining in the game.
Next game: FVSU will travel to Frankfort, KY., on Saturday, November 25 to play Kentucky State University in an afternoon game that's scheduled for 1 pm.
