EDWARDS LED WILDCATS PAST KENTUCKY STATE 92-75

FRANKFORT, KY – Tyler Edwards led four Wildcats in double figures with a game-high 25-points to get back in win column after a 92-75 SIAC win over the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University on Saturday evening at Exum Center on Kentucky State's campus.
 
The Wildcats improve to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), while KSU falls to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
 
Edwards hit 9-of-13 shots from the floor, banked 1-for-1 from behind the arc, hit 6-of-9 free throws, five rebounds, dished out a team-high four assists and had two steals. Jaylon McMillan followed with 21-points while making 7-of-10 shots from the field, 4-of-7 three pointers, and going 3-for-3 at the foul line and pulling down four boards. Walter Foster posted a game-high double-double 15 rebounds and 17-points, two assists and two blocks. James Barnes scored 11-points, grabbed seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Trey Elliott scored five points, Jamaal Garror and Glenn Hollaway added four points each. J. R. Bryant and Jeremy McClendon compiled three and two points.  
 
FVSU hit 50.8 percent of their shots from the field while holding KSU to just 41.2 percent from the floor. The Wildcats made 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) three pointers and made 25-of-40 (62.5 percent) free throws. The team drained 38-points to KSU's 36-points in the paint, added 17-points off turnovers, 21-points off second chance shots and scored 14-points from bench players.
 
Kevin Hayes scored 20-points to lead KSU and Austin Sherell led with nine rebounds.
 
The Wildcats scored the first 11-points on an 11-0 run. Garror's layup at the 11:34 mark would give FVSU a 13-point lead and their largest in the first half. KSU cut that lead to two points twice before the Wildcats 42-39 halftime score.
 
KSU's Reggie Breeden three pointer with 9:01 left in the second half cut the lead to four (61-65). Barnes layup pushed the lead back to double figures 72-61 with 8:37 remaining and FVSU never looked back.
 
The Wildcats will travel to Wilberforce, OH on Monday, November 27 to play Central State University at 7:30 pm (CST).
