FORT VALLEY, GA – The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats softball team split in their final games of the season with Brewton Parker College 9-1 and 5-2 Wednesday at Wildcat Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
Brianna Jackson led the Lady Wildcats with two hits and
Marlayzha Crutchfield,
Kaylen Johnson and
Tenia Johnson added one hit apiece.
Shekiya Tarpkins scored the only run.
Brewton Parker scored four runs in the first inning, one in the second and four more in the fourth. FVSU's run came in the fourth off five hits and eight errors.
Tenia Johnson (3-17) picked up the loss while going five innings, giving up nine runs (zero earned).
In the fourth inning, Tarpkins walked,
Kaylen Johnson singled moving Tarpkins to third base.
Tenia Johnson singled Tarpkins across the plate for the Wildcats only run. (9-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2):
FVSU out hit Brewton Parker six to four, while Ashley Blair led the Lady Wildcats with two hits and
Shekiya Tarpkins adding two RBI's and one hit.
Aliyah Speight,
Brianna Jackson and
Shakerra Geter had one hit each.
Tenia Johnson (4-17) gained the win in seven innings while allowing two runs (zero earned).
The Lady Wildcats three runs came in the first. Ashley Blair singled to center field,
Brianna Jackson singled down the leftfield line advancing Blair to second.
Shakerra Geter singled to center field to advance Blair and Jackson.
Keteria Loney walked to score Blair.
Shekiya Tarpkins singled in Jackson and Geter. (3-0)
FVSU scored two more runs in the second as
Tavyonne Dallis walked,
Aliyah Speight singled and advanced to second base on the throw, Dallis advanced to third. Dallis scored on a wild pitch and Speight moved to third. Ashley Blair singled down the left field line to bring Speight home. (5-0)
Brewton Parker rounded out the scoring with their two runs in the top half of the fifth inning. (5-2)
