Blazers Pull Away from Wildcats in Second Half

ALBANY, Ga. – In a competitive game in the first half, the Wildcats couldn't keep up in the second half. Valdosta State pushed its lead midway in the second half and pulled away from Fort Valley State men's basketball for a 94-65 final.

The Wildcats (0-2) scored the game's opening bucket on a Shawn Foxbrennen offensive putback and Jaylin McMillan gave them the early advantage for the second time on a jumper, 4-3, 2:46 into the game. The Blazers (2-0) netted the next five points and did not trail the final 17 minutes.

Foxbrennen produced a solid game where he was 7 of 12 from the floor and a perfect 5 for 5 from the line in a 20-point day. The FVSU newcomer added nine rebounds and a blocked shot.

McMillan chipped in 15 points and handed out two assists. K'Viontae Williams added seven points, while Dexter Williams pulled down eight caroms on the inside.

Winston Morgan was the game's top scorer for Valdosta State at 22 points.
