Wildcats' Jarman Makes it Three SIAC Offensive Player of the Week Awards in a Row

10/15/2019 3:59:00 PM

ATLANTA, Ga. – One honor is good, two is better, but the Wildcats signal caller made it a true run of league awards on Tuesday afternoon. Fort Valley State quarterback Slade Jarman made it three Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week football awards.

With his five-touchdown performance and another two defensive scores, Jarman was a big part of the Wildcats scoring their most points in a game in at least a dozen seasons, 77-34, at Central State last Saturday afternoon.

For his third SIAC honor in as many weeks, Jarman completed passes to 11 different receivers in his 33 completions of 48 pass attempts for 386 yards and four touchdowns. Slade also completed three of six 2-point conversion passes on the afternoon and rushed five times for 30 yards and a 2-yard touchdown. He guided a FVSU offense to a season-high 592 yards of total offense.

Heading into Week 8 of the NCAA Division II season, Jarman ranks among the nation's leaders in eight different categories. His highest ranking is fifth in pass completions per game of 23.67 and tied for sixth in both points responsible for per game (21.0 ppg) and points responsible for (126 points). Slade sits in 12th for passing touchdowns (15), 15th in passing yards (1,629) and 16th in passing yards per game (271.5)

Jarman and FVSU look for a fifth win in a row this Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19, in a 2 p.m. Homecoming game at Wildcat Stadium against Morehouse College.
