Wildcats Cruise Past Wolves

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – It was a slow starting Friday night for the Wildcats. Once Fort Valley State turned up the pressure, it cruised to the women's basketball victory over Wesleyan College, 98-31.
 
The Wolves (0-6) knocked down the game's opening eight points over the first 4:42. The Wildcats rushed out the first media timeout and scored the final 13 points of the frame for the 13-8 lead. FVSU slowly built its 21-point margin at half and outscored the visitors 59-13 in the second 20 minutes.
 
Jah'ne Brown dropped four 3-pointers as part of her game-high 19-point outing. Nyah Dismukes added 12 points, seven boards, six assists and six steals. Jada Sleet hit for 11 points to go with eight rebounds and four assists.
 
Ce'Asia Johnson and Ashley Bearden chipped in six points apiece off the bench. Jada Neal grabbed 10 rebounds.
 
Nala Lawrence was Wesleyan's lone double-digit scorer with 10 points.
 
FVSU has the next week off from action until it hosts Lane College on Saturday, Nov. 30, in a 1 p.m. contest.
